Liability Attorney

Job Description

A well-established law firm in Coral Gables, Florida is seeking an Associate Attorney with liability experience to join its growing practice. The ideal candidate will manage a diverse caseload, work closely with partners and clients, and play an active role in litigation strategy and courtroom advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of general liability, premises liability, and insurance defense matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal memoranda
• Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
• Develop case strategies and evaluate liability exposure
• Communicate regularly with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
• Maintain billable hour requirements in accordance with firm standards
• Support partners with trial preparation and complex litigation matters

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active Florida Bar membership in good standing
• ** 1–3 years** of litigation/liability defense experience
• Strong knowledge of Florida civil procedure and evidentiary rules
• Excellent writing, research, and advocacy skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment
